Guided tour + Renaissance show banquet

This special formula offers you quite an original museum experience.

First of all there is the tour with an experienced guide. He accompanies you in the satirical world of the 'sotte' paintings. At multiple occasions, he will give you a view on daily life in an inn in the year 1550. Food, beverages and entertainment will never be far away.

After the tour you can witness the historical reconstruction of an impressive Renaissance show banquet with exquisitely decorated pastries and original covers. The guide explains the table food culture and habits of the wealthy citizens in the sixteenth century.

After having enjoyed the visual sensations, you can continue discussions whilst enjoying a tasting of beverages which were served around 1550 in inns and at banquets, like e.g. Mede, Clairet, Hypocras, Anysbrandwater, etc.

At the end of the banquet, every visitor receives a description of original recepies from the sixteenth century. This way, you can surprise your friends with a highly original dinner party offering dishes like 'Blancmangier', 'Turkenhoofd' and 'Ghecloven nonnen'.
